Canine bodywork and dog massage use hands-on techniques to assess and work with your dog’s muscles and soft tissues. The goal is to address muscle tension, support comfortable movement and help your dog feel and move their best.

Dogs of all ages and activity levels can benefit from canine massage. It can be especially helpful for active and sport dogs, senior dogs, dogs experiencing muscle tension or stiffness, and dogs who benefit from regular maintenance.

You may notice stiffness, changes in movement, reluctance to do certain activities, slower recovery after exercise or increased muscle tension. You don't have to wait until you notice a problem, though. Regular bodywork can also be part of a proactive wellness routine.

There isn't one schedule that works for every dog. Some dogs benefit from regular maintenance once a month, while others may need sessions more often around training, competition, periods of increased activity or ageing. We'll figure out what makes sense for your dog.

Most sessions take approximately 40 - 60 minutes, depending on your dog's needs, comfort and how they respond to the work.

That's okay! Dogs don't have to lie perfectly still or behave perfectly for a session. I work with your dog and their comfort level, allowing them to move and change positions when needed.

Absolutely. Treats can be a great way to help your dog feel comfortable and make the experience positive. If your dog is food motivated, feel free to bring their favourite treats. So long as your dog doesn't show signs of resource guarding.

Each session is tailored to your dog. I'll assess how they're standing and moving, then use hands-on techniques to work with areas of muscle tension and restriction. We work with your dog rather than forcing them into a position.

K9 Muscleworks offers canine massage and bodywork at two Edmonton-area locations, as well as mobile appointments in Edmonton and surrounding areas. Home visits within Edmonton are available for an additional $20 travel fee. Travel fees for areas outside Edmonton vary depending on location.
